Biblical Studies With an Apologetic Purpose

Biblical Studies Videos

In this video Darek Barefoot begins an exploration of a fascinating pattern that spreads across scripture: confirmed testimony.

In part two of Darek Barefoot’s study of “confirmed testimony,” Darek examines the account of the transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain, along with other biblical events, to fill in more of the pieces of the “pair plus one” pattern.

In the third video of a series, Darek Barefoot first shows that faith may be grounded in evidence. Next he examines a special class of spiritual witnesses. The record of martyrs in the Bible is scattered across several books, but the pattern they form is anything but random.

In the latest installment in his video series titled The Principle of Confirmed Testimony, Darek Barefoot discusses ancient Israel’s role in testifying to the purpose of God. The Israelite nation came to consist of two kingdoms, Israel in the north and Judah in the south. Before there were two kingdoms, there were two halves of a united Israel—a division that can be traced to the leading sons of Jacob, Judah (whose mother was Leah) and Joseph (whose mother was Rachel). The two houses of Israel were represented at one juncture by the faithful witnesses Caleb and Joshua and even found expression, unexpectedly, in the apostolic witnesses of the first-century church.
